We "discovered" this place a couple of months ago. We usually head for Seattle whenever we want dim sum, but thought there might be something further south.
This place is excellent. An old motel converted, in part, to this restaurant. Exterior is unexceptionable, but interior is showy, old fashioned and fun.
The Dim Sum is varied, fresh and great. Lovely su mai, translucent har gow with plump shrimp, steaming hot xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), seen jook goon (AKA bean curd rolls) to die for, for starters. Various steamed and baked bao including a fine cha siu filling. The gai lan (Chinese flowering kale) with oyster sauce tasted freshly picked. Have your jean dway (sesame balls) made to order...a deep fried delight.
They offer several versions of congee/jook and lotus leaf wrapped glutinous rice combinations and those lovely little egg custard tarts, along with a full Cantonese menu and many other goodies that we haven't yet tried, but plan to soon!
We've been there three times, twice with friends and the quality has been consistent. Service is excellent, responsive and friendly. The staff speak several languages and are very helpful.
This is our new favorite go to place! -

Came on a Friday at about 1:30 for lunch and it was really empty. At one point we were the only ones in the restaurant.
The reason why my review is low is because of the service. Their food was delicious, but their service was lacking and quite slow, especially for us being the only ones there.
When we were ordering, the server kept interrupting us and suggesting items. At first it was okay, but it kept happening after every item we ordered and it was getting a little frustrating.
Our first dish came out and it was something we didn't order and actually something the server suggest. We decided it was fine and just ate it because we were starving. The food came out terribly slow, maybe 1-2 dishes at a time. They got our order wrong a couple times and brought us stuff we didn't order and asked if we just wanted it anyways on top of the items we had already ordered.
Overall, (sorry this is long lol) the food was delicious & I really liked it and would recommend their food, but the service was really bad. -

I ordered to-go today at Ming Palace and I was really hoping I found a good dim sum place closer to my house (I usually drive to Renton area to get my dumpling fix), but unfortunately I am still on the hunt! Although the staff was very friendly, and the prices were surprisingly really good, the food isn't worth going back for. I ordered Xiao Long Bao and the Taro Football. The soup dumpling just tasted like a steamed gyoza with a little bit of juice in it; They weren't horrible but definitely not your traditional soup dumpling. And the Taro Football was something I took a chance on. Not knowing what it was at all, I was thinking it was going to be some sort of sweet, fried taro desert (because that's what the photos looked like) and I was completely wrong! It was not sweet at all and it just had a very strange taste. The outside breading was burnt tasting, It was very gooey on the inside and the consistency and taste was something I couldn't handle, so it got thrown in the trash.
I gave this place 2 stars because the lady who helped me was very sweet and friendly. But I definitely won't be returning because of the food. -

If wanting a normal lunch hour, order only from the dim sum carts. Getting non-cart dishes like we did meant a 1 hour and 40 minute meal. Unfortunately, the better dishes weren't on the cart like the eggplant stuffed with shrimp that had a balanced array of flavors and large fried football that had a nicely seasoned pork filling and chewy rice flour coating. The only cart offering that I would try again was the baked pork pie with flakey western pastry and good filling.
Most dishes were ordinary. The pork and shrimp shu mai had tough and chunky texture and plain flavor. The steamed bao had a grainy mouthfeel bun and a filling that wasn't porky. The sticky baked bao looked big but was mostly air. The steamed bean curd was too salty. The XLB soup dumpling had too much ginger and a lack of dark soup.
Dim sum is offered daily from 11A-3P. Located in the cluster of unappealing motels, the entrance is on the right side of the building. -

My family goes all the way to Renton for our dim sum fix. However, we are all happy to say that this location will be our go to.
The service here is the best! Attentive and friendly. They are not pushy and always refilling our waters and tea. They would also come by to grab empty plates or ask if we wanted to order anything else. This is so important as other dim sum places barely come by so this was a nice refresher.
The food was superb! The dumplings were flavorful and delicious. Their fried rice was excellent! I also loved their tea, it was addicting to drink and they used tea leaves.
My only thing was we ordered a few things but they might have misunderstood and forgot so we waited for like 20 minutes before they stopped to ask if we neesed anything else.
